Job summary

Villa Health & Rehab in Deland, FL is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our caring team. You will provide direct resident care under licensed supervision, support daily living activities, and help create a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment for residents.

Your responsibilities include assisting with grooming, mobility, vital signs, hydration, meal preparation and feeding support, while documenting care and communicating effectively with the team.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in the state of Florida.
• Current/active CPR certification.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to communicate at all levels and work well in a team environment.
• Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and daily living activities for residents under supervision.
• Maintain clean resident rooms and grooming supplies.
• Assist with ambulation, transfers, mobility, and safety.
• Record vital signs and basic health data as directed.
• Monitor residents and report changes to licensed staff.
• Assist with plan of care development and input to nurses.
• Ensure hydration and nutrition support for residents.
• Prepare residents for meals and assist with feeding as needed.
• Document food intake and output accurately.
• Respond to call lights promptly and support resident needs.
• Assist in orientation and training of other staff.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position summary

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Requirements/Qualifications:

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Responsibilities

• Provide personal care (i.e., grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care, etc.) of residents daily and as needed.
• Change bed linen and maintain appropriate grooming supplies in resident room on a regular basis.
• Ambulate and transfer residents, utilizing appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics.
• Record resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake and output, food consumption, and other information, as assigned.
• Routinely turn and position residents, as necessary.
• Observe residents carefully and report changes in condition to Charge Nurse.
• Participate in collecting data needed for the accurate completion of the MDS and the plan of care. Provide input to the nurses for development of the plan of care.
• Provide adequate hydration to residents at regular intervals each day according to specific resident needs.
• Prepare residents for each meal and transport them to dining room (unless a bed patient) making sure that food tray is accessible, self-help devices are available (if needed), and assistance is provided to those residents who cannot feed themselves.
• Keep an accurate record of food intake and output, as directed.
• Be alert for proper ventilation, temperature, light and noise control.
• Take TPR (temperature, pulse, & rate), blood pressure, weighing of residents, etc., as directed.
• Promptly answer call lights and assist with other resident needs.
• Assist in the orientation and training of other staff, as requested.
