Job summary

The Gardens Health and Rehab in Daytona Beach, FL is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants to join our compassionate team. We offer a sign-on bonus of $3,000 for full-time and $1,500 for part-time positions, plus a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities include direct resident care under licensed supervision, assisting with activities of daily living, and ensuring a safe, respectful environment.

Qualifications

• Current Nursing Assistant certification from Florida.
• Current/active CPR certification, preferred.
• At least one year of skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.
• Professional and confidential in handling resident information.
• Able to work well within a team and support company objectives.
• Customer service oriented with ability to handle pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care (grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care) for residents daily.
• Change bed linen and maintain supplies in resident rooms.
• Ambulate and transfer residents with proper devices and body mechanics.
• Record vital signs, weights, intake/output, and other information.
• Routinely turn and position residents as needed.
• Observe residents and report changes to Charge Nurse.
• Assist in data collection for MDS and care plans.
• Ensure adequate hydration and assist with meals and dining access.
• Promote feeding assistance and monitor food intake and output.
• Maintain appropriate environment (ventilation, temperature, lights, noise).
• Take vitals (TPR, BP) as directed.
• Respond promptly to call lights and assist with needs.
• Assist in orientation and training of other staff.

Summary for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Perform direct resident care duties under the supervision of licensed nursing personnel. Assist with promoting a compassionate physical and psychosocial environment for the residents.

Requirements/Qualifications of Certified Nursing Assistant:

• Current Nursing Assistant certification from state of Florida.
• Current/active CPR certification, preferred.
• At least one (1) year Skilled Nursing experience preferred.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well within a team environment in support of company objectives.
• Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities of Certified Nursing Assistant

• Provide personal care (i.e., grooming, bathing, dressing, oral care, etc.) of residents daily and as needed.
• Change bed linen and maintain appropriate grooming supplies in resident room on a regular basis.
• Ambulate and transfer residents, utilizing appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics.
• Record resident vital signs, weights and measurements, intake and output, food consumption, and other information, as assigned.
• Routinely turn and position residents, as necessary.
• Observe residents carefully and report changes in condition to Charge Nurse.
• Participate in collecting data needed for the accurate completion of the MDS and the plan of care. Provide input to the nurses for development of the plan of care.
• Provide adequate hydration to residents at regular intervals each day according to specific resident needs.
• Prepare residents for each meal and transport to dining room (unless a bed patient) making sure that food tray is accessible, self-help devices are available (if needed), and assistance is provided to those residents who cannot feed themselves.
• Keep an accurate record of food intake and output, as directed.
• Be alert for proper ventilation, temperature, light and noise control.
• Take TPR (temperature, pulse, & rate), blood pressure, weighing of residents, etc., as directed.
• Promptly answer call lights and assist with other resident needs.
• Assist in the orientation and training of other staff, as requested.
