Job summary

Village on the Park Onion Creek in Austin, TX is hiring Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs) to provide compassionate, high-quality care to our senior residents. Aspenwood Company will cover the costs for you to obtain your CNA license if you join us full-time.

As a CNA you will assist with activities of daily living, support mealtimes, promote social engagement, and maintain accurate records. The position is evenings and overnight with a rotating schedule; weekend and holiday availability is

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification required.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• 6 months to 1 year prior resident care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills required.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• HIPAA compliance understanding required.
• Background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, dining).
• Support meals in dining room or apartments and assist with nutrition/hydration.
• Encourage socialization through leisure activities and community involvement.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, incidents, observations, and changes in residents' conditions.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment with general housekeeping duties.
• Follow procedures during emergencies and respond to resident requests for help.
• Monitor residents' locations and ensure they sign out when leaving.
• Promote teamwork and positive interactions with coworkers.
• Maintain professional appearance and personal hygiene; attend in-service trainings.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.

Location: Village on the Park Onion Creek, an Independent Living and Assisted Living senior community

Pay Rate: $18.00/hr.

Rotating Schedule

Must be available to work weekends and holidays.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, while encouraging independence and respect.
• Serve meals in the dining room or residents' apartments, assist in meal preparation, and promote proper nutrition and hydration, respecting residents' right to free choice.
• Participate in and initiate leisure activities, encouraging residents to socialize and form friendships.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment by performing general housekeeping duties.
• Follow proper procedures during emergencies and respond promptly to resident requests for assistance.
• Keep track of residents' locations, remind them to sign out when leaving, and promptly report if a resident cannot be located.
• Promote teamwork through positive interactions with co-workers.
• Maintain high standards of appearance, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Current CNA certification.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
• Must pass a background check and drug screen.
