Job summary

Centurion Health is seeking a Full-time CNA to join the team at Western Correctional Institution in Cumberland, Maryland. You will perform direct patient care under nurses and other clinicians, support daily living activities, and monitor vital signs for incarcerated individuals.

The ideal candidate holds a Maryland CNA license, a High School diploma or GED, and a current BLS certificate. Training in correctional health care is a plus; security clearance must be obtainable.

Qualifications

• Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
• CNA or other medical paraprofessional certification required.
• CNA license in Maryland required.
• Training or certification as nurse’s aide or medical technician preferred.
• One year of experience in acute, long-term, emergency or correctional settings preferred.
• Must have a certified BLS certificate.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under nursing, medical and psychiatric staff.
• Assist with personal hygiene and activities of daily living.
• Monitor vital signs and report changes to supervising staff.

CNAs work under the close direction of nursing, medical and psychiatric staff to perform direct patient care to incarcerated individuals. Assist patients by supporting personal hygiene, daily living needs and vital sign monitoring.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• CNA or other medical paraprofessional certification required
• CNA licensure in Maryland required
• Training, experience or certification as a nurse’s aide, medical technician or mental health worker preferred
• One year of experience in acute care, long-term care, emergency or correctional setting preferred
• Must have a certified BLS certificate
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
