Job Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) assists licensed nursing personnel in the provision of nursing care. They work under the supervision and direction of an assigned Registered Nurse (RN) and/or the Charge RN. The CNA supports the nursing team in providing services that meet patient and unit needs, carrying out all tasks according to patient and family needs in relation to age-specific and age-appropriate levels of care.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Under supervision of a licensed nurse, provide care and assist patients with tasks such as:
2. Patient Care Tasks including safety needs, mobility safety alarms, lifting equipment, bed rails, isolation and PPE, chemotherapy precautions, oral pharynx suctioning, restraints, hygiene, comfort, nutritional needs, patient transfer, and equipment handling.
3. Data collection including vital signs, height, weight, and drainage output.
4. Documentation of duties performed and data collected on appropriate hospital forms.
5. Effective communication with patients and staff, respecting patient property and recognizing abnormalities in signs and symptoms.

Experience

• Minimum of six months experience as a CNA in an acute care hospital, skilled nursing, outpatient, or similar setting.
• Current KP Coalition employees are exempt from this experience requirement.

Education

• High school diploma or GED.

Notes

• Work hours will be 20-32 per week, including every other weekend from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
