Job summary

Piedmont Health Services, Inc. is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support patients in the Adult Day Center at the Pittsboro location. The role includes assisting with daily activities, mobility, and basic care under supervision in a team-based clinical setting.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. Requires a CNA or equivalent training; HS diploma; CPR/First Aid training within 90 days. Competitive benefits offered and a patient-centered care environment.

About Position

The primary responsibility of the Certified Nursing Assistant is to assist patients and perform other tasks as assigned. Also, to support patient care in all aspects of Adult Day Center, including driving, as needed.

• Work Location: 163 Chatham Business Dr, Pittsboro, NC 27312 (Piedmont Health SeniorCare/PACE in Pittsboro)


• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assists with showering and dressing of participants per assignment


• Assists with toileting of participants within day center


• Assists with feeding of participants within day center.


• Assists with ambulating participants within the day center.


• Assists with pressure relief by repositioning (turn) participants every 2-3hours.


• Provides mouth care, skin care, hair care and nail care as assigned


• Use of hoyer lift and sit to stand for participant transfers when indicated


• Documentation of intake and output


• Provides perineal and catheter care when indicated


• Safe transfer techniques and ambulation assistance.


• Performs vital checks and other support as assigned in the clinic.


• Follows infection control policies (handwashing; isolation and standard precautions)


• May assist with ambulatory and rehabilitative therapies as directed by licensed therapist (OT/PT and ST)


• May be assigned to attend participant appointments to assist with ambulation and/or toileting needs.


• May be assigned to assist with kitchen/dining services as directed by Registered Dietitian


• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of Nurse’s Aide, Home Health Aid or equivalent training course. One year of experience with the frail or elderly preferred.

• Must be able to work effectively in a team environment


• Must be able to provide assistance and services to people of all ages, including geriatrics.


• Must meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by PHSC and approved by CMS before working independently.

Licensure, Registry or Certification Required

Certified Nursing Assistant I or certified within 90 days of employment. Upon employment, must become trained in CPR and First Aid.

Immunizations

Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date prior to beginning employment.

Pay Range

$16.43/Hourly - $22.08/Hourly (commensurate with years of experience)
