Responsibilities

1. Assist with activities of daily living such as serving meals, feeding patients, ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; provide fresh water and nourishment between meals.
2. Administer adjunct care including enemas, douches, dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz and therapeutic baths; apply restraints.
3. Monitor patient stability by checking vital signs and weight, testing urine, and recording intake and output.
4. Ensure patient comfort by utilizing resources, transporting patients, responding to call lights and requests, and reporting observations to nursing staff.
5. Complete documentation through forms, reports, logs, and records.
6. Follow policies and procedures to maintain work operations.
7. Maintain patient confidentiality to protect the organization's value.
8. Adhere to professional standards, hospital policies, and legal requirements to serve and protect the hospital community.
9. Participate in educational opportunities, read professional publications, join professional organizations, and maintain licensure to stay updated.
10. Contribute to the reputation of the nursing department and hospital by taking ownership of new requests and exploring value-added opportunities.
