Job Summary:

The Medical Surgical unit cares for acutely ill adults and surgical patients, both emergent and elective. Registered nurses and nurse assistants provide the highest standards of care. Specialty certification in Medical Surgical Nursing is encouraged and supported.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Examine patients for issues requiring medical care, such as open wounds, bruises, or blood in urine.
• Remind patients to take medications and nutritional supplements.
• Observe and report patient behavior, complaints, or physical symptoms to nurses.
• Stay updated on CNA training and facility policies.

Qualifications:

• Current unencumbered Oregon CNA certification required.
• Healthcare Provider Level AHA BLS certification required.
• One year of hospital or long-term care experience preferred.
