Job summary

Olmsted Medical Center in Minnesota seeks a Nurse Midwife/Certified Nurse-Midwife (APRN CNM) to provide comprehensive obstetric and women's health care. The role includes ambulatory and inpatient obstetric care, teaching for students, and collaboration with the care team.

The successful candidate will hold an APRN/CNM license in Minnesota, be AMCB-certified, and possess a Master’s or Doctoral degree with a focus in Nurse Midwifery.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree with focus on Nurse Midwifery.
• Licensed as an Advanced Practice RN (APRN), CNM in Minnesota.
• Certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate history and physical examinations of women.
• Provides primary care in an ambulatory setting for women including ordering and evaluation of diagnostic tests and management of minor complications.
• Provides inpatient obstetrical care for women including labor management, delivery of infant, repair of lacerations/episiotomy, and management of minor complications.
• Initiates emergency care as needed.
• Provides individualized teaching and counseling utilizing the nurse-midwifery philosophy.
• Identifies deviations from normal and consults, co-manages, or refers as appropriate.
• Completes necessary documentation.
• Participates in quality improvement projects, research, and continuing education activities.
• Instructs and supervises midwifery students and other learners as assigned.
• Prescribes medications, treatment modalities, and durable medical equipment as indicated by health condition.
• Other duties as assigned.
