Job summary

Olmsted Medical Center in Rochester, MN, seeks a Nurse-Midwife (CNM) for a part-time, day-shift role. The successful candidate will provide obstetric and women's health care, including labor and delivery, in outpatient and inpatient settings.

The position requires an active MN RN license, advanced practice certification (CNM/APRN) and AMCB certification, with a Master’s or Doctoral focus in nurse midwifery. Competitive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Current Minnesota RN license.
• Master's degree or doctoral degree with focus on nurse midwifery.
• Licensed as an Advanced Practice RN (APRN), CNM in Minnesota.
• Certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate history and physical examinations of women.
• Provides primary care in ambulatory settings for women including testing and management of minor complications.
• Provides inpatient obstetrical care including labor, delivery, repairs, and management of minor complications.
• Instructs and supervises midwifery students and other learners as assigned.
• Prescribes medications and durable medical equipment as indicated by health condition.
• Completes necessary documentation.
• Participates in quality improvement projects and continuing education.

Education

Job Responsibilities

• Performs accurate history and physical examinations of women.
• Provides primary care in an ambulatory setting for women including ordering and evaluation of diagnostic tests and management of minor complications.
• Provides inpatient obstetrical care for women including labor management, delivery of infant, repair of lacerations/episiotomy, and management of minor complications. Initiates emergency care as needed.
• Provides individualized teaching and counseling utilizing the nurse-midwifery philosophy.
• Identifies deviations from normal, and consults, co-manages, or refers as appropriate.
• Completes necessary documentation.
• Participates in quality improvement projects, research, and continuing education activities.
• Instructs and supervises midwifery students and other learners as assigned.
• Prescribes medications, treatment modalities, and durable medical equipment as indicated by health condition.
• Other duties as assigned.
