Highmark Health seeks a skilled midwife to provide care for women and families across the lifespan at our Pennsylvania location. The role emphasizes procedures within established midwifery guidelines, comprehensive assessments, and evidence‑based diagnosis and treatment planning.

Ideal candidates hold ACME‑accredited Nurse Midwife credentials, current PA licensure (or eNLC), AMCB certification, and a PA prescriptive authority.

• Active PA RN licensure or multi‑state licensure via eNLC is required.
• AMCB certification required.
• PA midwifery license with prescriptive authority required.
• 1–3 years of midwifery experience preferred.
• Must have PA driver’s license and CPR certification; background checks required.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides care to women and their families throughout their lifespan.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs procedures within the scope of midwifery practice as defined by the American College of Nurse Midwives and outlined in the practice guidelines. (50%)
• Performs assessments of physical, psychosocial and educational needs. (25%)
• Provides diagnosis and order appropriate treatment and medication. (25%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Graduate of Nurse Midwife Program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME)
• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
• Certification from American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
• Current PA Midwifery license with prescriptive authority
• Preferred 1-3 years’ midwifery experience
• Additional Employment Requirements: Current PA driver's license CPR – American Heart Association Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
