Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a licensed Nurse Midwife to provide comprehensive care to women and families across the lifespan in Monroeville, PA. The role focuses on delivering evidence-based midwifery services, patient education, and collaborative care within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include performing midwifery procedures, conducting psychosocial assessments, diagnosing and ordering treatments, and meeting additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ACME-accredited Nurse Midwife program.
• Current PA RN license or current multi-state license through eNLC.
• Certification from AMCB.
• Current PA Midwifery license with prescriptive authority.
• Preferred 1–3 years’ midwifery experience.
• Additional requirements: CPR, Act 34, Act 33, Act 73 and FBI fingerprinting/background checks.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides care to women and their families throughout their lifespan.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs procedures within the scope of midwifery practice as defined by the American College of Nurse Midwives and outlined in the practice guidelines. (50%)
• Performs assessments of physical, psychosocial and educational needs. (25%)
• Provides diagnosis and order appropriate treatment and medication. (25%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Graduate of Nurse Midwife Program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME)
• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
• Certification from American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
• Current PA Midwifery license with prescriptive authority
• Preferred 1-3 years’ midwifery experience
• Additional Employment Requirements: Current PA driver's license CPR – American Heart Association Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
