Job summary

Highmark Health seeks a Nurse Midwife to provide comprehensive care for women and families across the lifespan. You will perform midwifery procedures, conduct assessments, and diagnose and treat within regulatory guidelines.

Required credentials include ACME accreditation, PA licensure or eNLC, AMCB certification, and prescriptive authority. Preference given to those with 1–3 years of midwifery experience and valid PA driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must have ACME-accredited Nurse Midwife program.
• Current PA RN license or multi-state eNLC license.
• Certification from AMCB.
• PA midwifery license with prescriptive authority.
• Preferred 1–3 years midwifery experience.
• Valid PA driver’s license.
• CPR certification (AHA).
• Background checks as required by PA law.

Responsibilities

• Performs midwifery procedures within scope defined by ACME and guidelines (50%).
• Assesses physical, psychosocial and educational needs (25%).
• Provides diagnosis and orders appropriate treatment and medication (25%).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job description

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Provides care to women and their families throughout their lifespan.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs procedures within the scope of midwifery practice as defined by the American College of Nurse Midwives and outlined in the practice guidelines. (50%)
• Performs assessments of physical, psychosocial and educational needs. (25%)
• Provides diagnosis and order appropriate treatment and medication. (25%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum Graduate of Nurse Midwife Program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME)
• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
• Certification from American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
• Current PA Midwifery license with prescriptive authority
• Preferred 1-3 years’ midwifery experience
• Additional Employment Requirements: Current PA driver's license CPR – American Heart Association Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
