Job summary
Northwestern Medicine’s Lake Forest Hospital is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to provide direct patient care with advanced clinical expertise. The CNM will diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, collaborate with physicians, mentor graduate students, and contribute to education and quality initiatives.
The role requires an APRN license in Illinois, CNM certification, and a master’s degree in nursing with BLS certification.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- Registered Professional Nurse (IL) license.
- Advance Practice Registered Nurse (IL) license.
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse certification by a national certifying body as approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
- OR Certification as Clinical Nurse Specialist; Certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board; BLS for Healthcare Providers; DEA registration.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct care to patients with clinical expertise.
- Diagnoses and manages acute and chronic health problems within the specialty area.
- Collaborates with physicians and other professionals in the area of clinical expertise.
- Develops educational programs for patients, families and staff; mentors graduate students.
- Engages in research and quality improvement activities relevant to the specialty.
