Northwestern Medicine Catherine Gratz Griffin Lake Forest Hospital is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to practice in a hybrid model, spending two days weekly in outpatient clinics and two days in Labor & Delivery. The role requires an APRN license in Illinois, CNM certification, and a master’s degree in nursing.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, managing acute and chronic conditions, education, mentorship of students, and participation in research and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing is required.
• Registered Nurse license in Illinois (RN) is required.
• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license in Illinois is required.
• APRN certification by a national certifying body approved in Illinois is required.
• Certification as CNM or CNS by a national body is preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification for healthcare providers is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to patients with clinical expertise and advanced knowledge.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic health issues within the CNM scope.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals in the specialty area.
• Develop educational programs for patients, families and staff.
• Mentor graduate students in advanced practice.
• Participate in research and quality improvement activities.
