Job summary

Gifford Health Care in Central Vermont is seeking a per diem Certified Nurse Midwife to join a midwifery-led practice delivering patient-centered care.

You will provide full-scope midwifery services, including obstetrics, gynecology, ultrasound, first assist, and support physiologic birth with VBAC and waterbirth. The team emphasizes autonomy, collaboration, and compassionate care for a diverse community.

Qualifications

• Must be certified as a Nurse Midwife and hold valid licensure.
• Experience in obstetrics, gynecology, and first assist preferred.
• Ability to provide full-scope midwifery care including ultrasound.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and support births in a midwifery-led setting.
• Provide obstetric and gynecologic care, including VBAC and waterbirth.
• Perform first assist duties with a focus on patient-centered care.

Job description

Come and join our midwifery practice at Gifford Healthcare in beautiful Central Vermont. We are seeking a per diem Certified Nurse Midwife to become an integral part of our team, supporting our mission to deliver high-quality, personalized care.

We are a midwifery-led practice serving both our local community and patients from across the state and neighboring states who desire patient-centered care.

Gifford is a critical access hospital serving a broad patient demographic. Midwives at Gifford have the opportunity to practice full-scope midwifery care, including obstetrics, gynecology, first assist, ultrasound, and external cephalic versions.

Commitment to both our patients and our team is highly valued and is an important consideration in the search process. We work with a high level of autonomy in a close-knit team and strive to provide individualized care that is consistent, flexible, and trustworthy.

Our Birthing Center has five LDRP rooms with an exceptional nursing team. We attend approximately 220 births per year. We support physiologic birth, waterbirth, VBAC, and twin gestations. We provide care for higher-risk pregnancies in collaboration with our OB colleagues.

Call can be taken within a 30-minute radius.

Applicants must be certified as a Nurse Midwife and hold all required licensure and certifications.
