Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

In a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment, contributes professional and clinical expertise to assigned patient populations to ensure the delivery of high-quality care. Scope of practice will encompass:

• Expert clinical practice
• Expert guidance and coaching of patients and families and other healthcare providers
• Research
• Leadership (clinical, professional, and systems)

PROGRAMMATIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides evidence-based comprehensive care for women, including routine obstetric care and management of routine non-surgical gynecologic care. Obstetric care includes antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care for pregnant patients. CNM assumes direct responsibility for implementing care plans.
• Participates and/or leads quality assessment and performance improvement activities.
• Acts as a liaison between the patient, family, and physicians.
• Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure consistent and appropriate patient care for this patient population.
• Works collaboratively with the Medical Director/Chairman and/or Collaborating Physician.

EDUCATION:

• Board certified and credentialed as an Advanced Practice Nurse in New Jersey, with primary focus as a Certified Nurse Midwife.
• Obtain a New Jersey CDS and federal DEA certificate upon employment if not already possessed.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical practice experience in a related field. Willing to train highly motivated individuals.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

• Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem solving.
• Participation in pertinent professional and/or specialty organizations is preferred.
