Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Monroeville, PA seeks a Nurse Midwife to provide comprehensive care to women and families across the lifespan. You will perform procedures, assessments, and contribute to diagnoses and treatment planning.

This role requires ACME-accredited Nurse Midwife education, PA RN licensure or multi‑state eNLC, AMCB certification, PA midwifery license with prescriptive authority, CPR certification, and required background clearances.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ACME-accredited Nurse Midwife Program.
• Current PA RN licensure or multi-state licensure via eNLC.
• AMCB certification.
• PA Midwifery license with prescriptive authority.
• PA driver's license.
• CPR – American Heart Association.
• Act 34 background clearance.
• Act 33 child abuse clearance.
• Act 73 FBI fingerprint background clearance.

Responsibilities

• Performs procedures within midwifery scope as defined by ACNM guidelines.
• Performs assessments of physical, psychosocial, and educational needs.
• Provides diagnosis and orders appropriate treatment and medication.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job description

General Overview

Provides care to women and their families throughout their lifespan.

Essential Responsibilities

• Performs procedures within the scope of midwifery practice as defined by the American College of Nurse Midwives and outlined in the practice guidelines. (50%)
• Performs assessments of physical, psychosocial and educational needs. (25%)
• Provides diagnosis and orders appropriate treatment and medication. (25%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Minimum

• Graduate of Nurse Midwife Program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME)
• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
• Certification from American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
• Current PA Midwifery license with prescriptive authority
• Current PA driver's license
• CPR – American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Preferred

• 1-3 years’ midwifery experience
