Job summary

Weston County Health Services in Newcastle, Wyoming is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Long-Term Care to provide hands-on care that supports residents’ comfort, dignity, and quality of life each day. You’ll respond to patient call lights, assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, follow care plans, and help with mobility and nutrition.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Willingness to take after-hours calls and work nights, weekends, and variable shifts.
• Willing to cross-train across departments, including acute care.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to patient call lights and assess needs.
• Provide hands-on ADL support, mobility and hygiene.
• Turn, reposition, and assist bedridden patients per care plans.
• Support nutritional needs per dietary restrictions and resident preferences.
• Gather and communicate relevant information regarding patient condition, treatment plans and activities.
• Measure, monitor, and accurately record food and fluid intake.
• Obtain and document vital signs as directed.
• Observe patients for changes and report to nursing staff.
• Communicate concerns to nurses.
• Greet and assist patients, families, and visitors professionally.
• Introduce yourself to patients, families, and visitors to promote comfort and trust.
• Identify and report safety hazards to ensure a safe care environment.
• Replenish supplies and maintain organized patient care areas.
• Adhere to infection control practices and hand hygiene.
