Role Summary

As a CNA – Acute Care, you will be part of MercyOne Clinton Medical Center’s healthcare team, supervised directly by a registered nurse. Your role involves delivering quality, patient-centered care by assisting with daily activities and addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, consistent with our mission and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist under RN supervision, maintaining accountability for your actions.
• Help with physical management of patients: feeding, hygiene, bed making, ambulation.
• Provide care respecting age-specific and cultural needs.
• Record and report vital signs, intake/output, weight, and behavioral changes.
• Collect specimens and perform diagnostic procedures as directed.
• Ensure patient safety through appropriate care and prevention.
• Respect individual rights and demonstrate caring practices.

Schedule

• Days: 7:00 am – 7:30 pm; every third weekend; holiday rotation.

Minimum Requirements

• Certified Nurse Aide certification from the State of Iowa.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Three years’ experience in a related field preferred.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a potentially stressful environment.
• Organizational skills to set and adapt work priorities.
• Comfort in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
• Honesty, integrity, and caring attitude to inspire and motivate others.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
