Animas Surgical Hospital in Durango, CO is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant to join the inpatient team. You will provide routine nursing care, support daily living activities, monitor vitals, and document patient status per protocol.
Qualifications include Colorado CNA certification and a High School Diploma or equivalent. One year inpatient experience preferred; pre-employment drug screen is required. Competitive benefits and a supportive team environment are offered.
Job Summary:
Perform routine care, provide for the comfort of the patient, and communicate according to protocol, the CNA acts as a key link in the healthcare team.
Reports to: Director, Inpatient Services and RN Supervisor
Hourly Rate: $20.50 - $30.43 (hourly rate does not include overtime or bonuses which are not guaranteed)
Essential Job Functions:
Demonstrates the spirit of the philosophy, mission, and values of the hospital through words and actions and implements them into departmental processes, programs, and the working environment.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certification, Licensure: Certified Nursing Assistant in state of Colorado, Current CPR certification
Experience, Training, Knowledge:
Physical Requirements:
Requires lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to fifty (50) pounds; stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching; standing and walking more than five (5) hours per day; visual acuity in order to correctly distinguish skin tone variations, evidence of IV infiltration, infection, also to read telemetry, blood pressure gauges, etc.; audio acuity, in order to correctly distinguish various body sounds, i.e. respiration’s, heart sounds, bowel sounds, also to discern sounds made by various types of machinery or equipment which would indicate dangerous or improper operation.
Working Conditions/Environmental Exposures:
Environmental hazards such as chemicals, solvents, needles, needle containers, sharps, blood, body fluids, various infectious/communicable diseases, infectious medical waste, radiation, and/or radioactive materials and/or radioactive waste, proximity to moving mechanical parts. Protective clothing/equipment may be necessary.
