Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC, seeks a compassionate CNA I to support a 24-bed Med-Surg unit focused on cardiac care and monitoring. You will assist with ADLs, vital signs, and patient comfort while working closely with RNs, NAs, and techs.

Applicants must hold a valid CNA license and complete NA coursework; BLS is required within 30 days. Prior CNA experience is preferred, with opportunities for growth in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Current state NA I license in good standing.
• Completed NA course from an accredited school.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• One year of CNA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs and blood sugars regularly.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and report changes.
• Document input/output and patient weights accurately.
• Assist the nurse as needed and respond to call lights promptly.
• Support patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Provide age/condition appropriate care and maintain patient comfort.
• Distribute drinks and snacks; keep room clean and organized.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

More About Our Team

Join our team in a 24 bed unit staffed with Registered Nurses (RNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (NAs), and monitor techs. This unit focuses on Pre & Post Cardiac Cath patients with 24 hr cardiac monitoring.

How You'll Contribute

Certified Nursing Assistant I (CNA I), who excels in this role:

• Monitor vital signs/blood sugars
• Assists patients with activities of daily living; Document and report abnormal findings or changes in patient condition
• Measure and document input/output and weights
• Assist nurse as needed
• Answer call lights
• Assist with patient admission, transfer and discharge
• Provide care appropriate to the condition/age of the patient
• Distribute drinks and/or snacks
• Maintain clean and neat patient room and work environment.
• All other duties as assigned
