Primary Responsibilities

The Certified Nurse Aide will provide assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident assessments and care plans.

Essential Functions

• Assist residents with customary daily tasks in care and treatment such as bathing, feeding, dressing, observing food intake, hair and nail care, moving residents from area to area, and responding to calls.
• Carry out duties and responsibilities in accordance with resident care policy and procedure.
• Measure and record vital signs as assigned by Charge Nurse.
• Detect and report situations that may cause resident accidents or injuries.
• Contribute knowledge of resident conditions and needs to resident care plans.
• Observe and report symptoms, reactions, and changes of conditions to Charge Nurse.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Licensing Requirements

Must hold a valid Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) license.

Experience Requirements

• Experience in a long-term care facility is preferred.
• Must be at least 16 years of age.

Physical Demands

• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Push, pull, slide, and transfer residents or equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Stand, sit, walk, and perform other basic locomotor activities throughout the shift.
• Use speaking, hearing, listening, seeing, reaching, and turning or twisting movements as required.
• Drive transportation vehicles when necessary.
• Maintain balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling movements as needed.
