Job summary
Centra Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) for full-time days. The role includes direct patient care, support for admissions and discharges, and safety-focused tasks in Lynchburg, VA.

Qualifications
- Completion of a nursing assistant training course.
- Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize and multitask in a healthcare environment.
- CPR/BCLS certification required.
- Current VA state certification as a Nursing Assistant.
- Minimum six months of experience in an acute care or long-term care setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic patient care tasks including bathing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
- Provide general nursing support such as positioning, lifting, turning, and using special equipment.
- Assist with toileting needs using bedpans, urinals, commodes, or ambulation to the bathroom.
- Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, and intake/output measurements accurately and document in a timely manner.
- Prepare patient rooms for admission and transfer, ensuring cleanliness and equipment readiness.
- Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment with attention to ventilation and lighting.
- Support patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, including handling of patient belongings.
- Answer patient call lights, phones, and pages, responding promptly and appropriately.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

We offer customized, individualized rehabilitation tailored to the specific needs of those recovering from a stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury.
A CNA who excels in this role:
