Job summary

CHRISTUS Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Longview, TX is seeking a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) to deliver basic patient care under nursing supervision, supporting comfort and activities of daily living.

Join a safety-focused team and help admit, transfer and discharge patients; participate in assessments and documentation, with scheduled 3x12 shifts.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and complete a nursing assistant training course.
• Minimum six months of experience in an acute or long-term care setting preferred.
• Current state Nursing Assistant certification.
• CPR/BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care tasks including bathing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
• Provide general nursing support such as positioning, lifting, turning, and using special equipment.
• Assist with toileting needs using bedpans, urinals, commodes, or ambulation to the bathroom.
• Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, and intake/output measurements accurately and document in a timely manner.
• Prepare patient rooms for admission and transfer, ensuring cleanliness and equipment readiness.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment with attention to ventilation and lighting.
• Support patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, including handling of patient belongings.
• Answer patient call lights, phones, and pages, responding promptly and appropriately.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

How you’ll contribute

What we’re looking for

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Education: Required:High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a nursing assistant training course.
• Experience:Minimum six months of experience in an acute care or long-term care setting preferred.
• Licenses:Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant.
• Certifications:CPR/BCLS certification required.

Schedule: 3x12, Days (5:45a – 5:45p), 3x12, Nights (5:45p-5:45a) or PRN Days, 12 hr. shifts
