Job summary

The Medical Laboratory Scientist/Certified role at University of Kentucky HealthCare is based in the Core Lab and supports a Level I trauma center, performing hematology, chemistry, coagulation, blood gas and urinalysis testing. The Core Lab spans several sites including Chandler, Good Samaritan, ED Satellite and Markey Satellite.

Extensive testing capabilities and state-of-the-art instrumentation are used to ensure accurate, timely reporting of results across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• BS MLS required.
• ASCP certification must be obtained within 6 months from date of hire.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing in a fast-paced academic medical center.
• Assist in testing across core lab areas (blood gas, chemistry, coagulation, hematology, urinalysis).
• Maintain accuracy and timely result reporting in a CAP-accredited setting.
