Job summary

The Medical Laboratory Scientist/Certified will perform clinical laboratory testing in a fast-paced academic medical center, primarily in the Core Lab supporting trauma, transplant services, KY Children’s Hospital and Markey Cancer Center.

Requirements include a BS in MLS and ASCP MLS certification within 6 months of hire; three 12-hour shifts per week, with weekend and holiday rotations in a fully staffed lab.

Qualifications

• BS required (Bachelor of Science) in Medical Laboratory Science or MLS equivalent.
• ASCP MLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Strong technical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing in a fast-paced academic medical center.
• Operate in the Core Lab supporting trauma center, KY Children’s Hospital and Markey Cancer Center.
• Work with tests including blood gas, chemistry, coagulation, hematology and urinalysis.
