UK HealthCare in Lexington, KY is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Certified who will perform clinical laboratory testing in a fast-paced academic medical center. The Core Lab supports trauma, transplant and cancer programs, with testing including blood gas, chemistry, coagulation, hematology, and urinalysis.

The successful candidate will work in a CAP-accredited laboratory, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting of results.

Job description

The Medical Laboratory Scientist/Certified will be responsible for performing clinical laboratory testing in a fast-paced academic medical center. The Laboratory provides services to all aspects of this Level I trauma center and throughout the healthcare enterprise, including solid organ and bone marrow transplant, KY Children’s Hospital, and Markey Cancer Center. This position will be instrumental in maintaining a quality of service based on accuracy and timely result reporting. This position will be located in the Core Lab, and testing will include, but is not limited to, blood gas, chemistry, coagulation, hematology, and urinalysis. The Core Lab has multiple testing sites within the organization: Chandler, Good Samaritan, ED Satellite and Markey Satellite. The CAP-Accredited Laboratory at the University of Kentucky showcases the use of state-of-the-art instrumentation and technology. In addition, this department provides services to all aspects of the University of Kentucky’s Level I trauma center and throughout the healthcare enterprise, including KY Children’s Hospital, and Markey Cancer Center.
