Job summary

Viva Senior Living in Roanoke, VA seeks a Resident Medication Associate (RMA) to administer medications and ensure resident safety daily. The role requires state-certified Medication Technician credentials, ongoing education, and English proficiency.

You will collaborate with the Clinical department to support residents with compassion and dignity. Responsibilities include accurate med administration, observation of reactions, safe storage, and strict adherence to policies.

Qualifications

• Must have certification as Medication Technician per State regulations.
• Must complete continuing education and maintain certification per State regulations.
• Must possess knowledge of state medication techniques.
• Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Administers and accurately records the administration of medications for residents as prescribed by the physician and policies.
• Observes, records and reports symptoms related to medication interactions or side effects.
• Determines and records effectiveness of medications and promotes resident rights during administration.
• Stores medications in a safe and accurate manner per policies and regulations.
• Monitors medications to ensure accountability from order to shift change.
• Routinely inspects and maintains equipment and supplies for resident safety.
• Obtains, records, and reports vital signs as indicated during medication administration.
• Maintains confidentiality of resident information and complies with privacy policies.
• Participates in life safety drills and emergency procedures as assigned.
