The Impact You Will Make
  • Administer medication to residents, accurately record in the EMAR, monitor for adverse effects, and maintain proper medication storage and safety.
  • Serve as the Lead on the shift and coach CNAs to offer choices and encourage residents to maintain independence.
  • Adhere to protocols and guidelines, including proper lifting techniques and universal precautions.
  • Encourage participation in enriching activities and programs, dedicating time for meaningful, one‑on‑one interactions.
  • Tune into subtle cues of residents—monitor mood, food intake, and functional status, and document changes meticulously.
  • Support colleagues as a true team leader, maintaining a clean environment and promptly removing soiled items.
  • Act decisively on any resident crisis or emergency, using training and instincts to provide prompt comfort and aid.
  • Foster positive, respectful communication among staff, residents, and families to build trust.
Qualifications and Expectations
  • Heart-Ready: Must be at least 18 years of age with a clean criminal background check.
  • Prepared to Protect: Hold or obtain current certification in emergency first aid and CPR.
  • A Healthy Foundation: Must complete a pre‑employment physical examination and tuberculosis screening.
  • Physical Strength, Gentle Touch: Ability to bend, lift, carry, and move residents safely.
  • Dedicated to Growth: Commitment to completing training in emergency procedures, residents’ rights, infection control, dementia care, and required annual continuing education hours.
  • Clear Communication: Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspond, and speak effectively to residents, families, and staff.
  • A Flexible Spirit: Willingness to work various schedules and shifts as needed to ensure residents always have support.
