Administers medications as documented in the MAR, following proper techniques and completing medication passes safely within the allotted time frame 100% of the time. Documents all medications accurately and appropriately, adhering to the standards of the nursing department. Maintains supplies and equipment on medication carts, and alerts the charge nurse of any needs. Ensures medication carts are locked, stocked, and cleaned at shift start and end. Monitors residents’ responses to medications, reports observations to the Charge Nurse, and administers PRN medications with approval, monitoring responses throughout the shift. Works with the Charge Nurse to reorder medications as needed. Uses proper procedures to minimize loss and protect residents, and completes ongoing education and responsibilities as a CMT. Maintains effective relationships with team members and handles confidential information discreetly. Provides shift reports, assists residents with ADLs, and may be assigned additional duties.
