Administers medications as documented in the MAR, following proper techniques and completing medication passes safely within the allotted time frame 100% of the time. Documents all medications accurately, adheres to established standards and guidelines, maintains supplies and equipment on medication carts, and alerts the charge nurse for any needs. Ensures medication carts are locked, stocked, and cleaned at shift start and end. Monitors residents’ responses to medication, reports observations, and administers PRN medication with charge nurse approval, monitoring responses and reporting any adverse effects. Works with the charge nurse to reorder medications as needed. Uses proper procedures to minimize loss and protect residents. Completes job duties as a CMT by attending continuing education, accepting reassignments, taking on responsibilities, and communicating pertinent information to RN and LPN. Maintains effective relationships with team members, respects confidentiality, gives shift reports, and assists residents as needed. May be assigned additional duties.
