Job summary

Alpine Breeze Health and Wellness is seeking a Certified Medication Aide/Tech (CMT) to administer daily medications to residents in compliance with state and federal regulations. You will monitor residents, report changes, and maintain accurate MAR documentation.

The role supports various shifts as Full-time, Part-time or PRN. Required qualifications include state certification, completion of State Approved Training and Competency, and current BLS/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Certified Medication Technician/Aide in the state of practice is required.
• State-approved training and competency evaluation program completed; name on State Registry in good standing.
• Current BLS/CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Administers prescribed medications and treatments as defined by state regulations in accordance with approved techniques and notes time and amount on resident’s chart.
• Deliver routine daily medications as prescribed by physicians to residents; pass resident medications in accordance with physician orders and MAR.
• Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records drug, dosage, and time of administration on forms; documents reasons meds aren’t administered and reports to nursing supervisor.
• Presents medication to residents and observes ingestion or other applications; administers medication using defined procedures.
• Documents completion of tasks daily and notes any change of condition per local rules and regulations.
• Assists with meal service; checks nutritional risk and dietary orders, and reports significant weight changes.

Duties include monitoring residents, reporting changes, and collecting and recording medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug, dosage, and time of administration on specified forms and records; Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered and reports to nursing supervisor.
• Presents medication to residents and observes ingestion or other applications, or administer medication, using specified procedures
• Document completion of tasks delivered daily, Document any observed change of condition in accordance with local rules and regulations.
• Assists with meal service; Identifies residents at risk for nutritional problems and implements preventative measures; Checks items and food that is brought in by family members to assure it complies with resident’s orders, dietary needs, and safety; Monitors residents with significant weight loss and gain and reports this to the physician and dietary.

Qualifications

• Certified in the state of practice, required.
• Successful completion of State Approved and certified Medication Technician/Aide Nurse Aide Training and Competency evaluation Program; Name must appear on State Registry as Certified Medication Technician/Aide- in good standing.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
