Job summary

Great Plains Post Acute is seeking a licensed Medication Aide to administer prescribed medications to residents and document all administration accurately. The role operates under the direction of the attending physician, nursing supervisors, and the Director of Nursing Services.

The ideal candidate will uphold state regulations, participate in QA programs, and collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and the nursing team to ensure resident safety and care quality.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school education or its equivalent.
• Must be a licensed Medication Aide having completed state-approved training and examinations.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general procedures and regulations.
• Ability to write reports and documentation clearly.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations for medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Follow facility policies and procedures for administering medications.
• Accurately and safely prepare, administer, and document oral/topical medications as ordered.
• Verify medications brought by new residents and have them identified by the attending physician or pharmacy.
• Document and report medication errors or adverse reactions promptly.
• Maintain accurate medication charts and documentation and assist with quality assurance initiatives.
