Job summary

Midwest Health, Inc. seeks a Certified Medication Aide in Kansas to assist with the safe administration of medications and resident care.

You will follow physician orders, nursing standards, and facility policies while maintaining resident privacy and accurate documentation. Responsibilities include supporting the nursing staff, ensuring proper labeling, charting, and storage of medications, and reporting any issues or refusals promptly.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid CMA certification in good standing with the State.
• Must have a valid CPR certification.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to work beyond normal hours and on weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Comply with nursing department’s policies and procedures.
• Report allegations of resident abuse/neglect to Administration/DON or Nurse Manager on Call.
• Treat residents, family members, visitors, and team members with respect and dignity.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all resident and family information.
• Document and report medication administration errors immediately.
• Ensure medications are properly labeled and charted; follow storage procedures.
• Assist with destroying medications and removing discontinued meds.
• Follow procedures for medication self-administration and monitoring.
• Notify supervisors of refusals or adverse reactions to medications.
• Verify resident identity before administering medications.
• Observe medication ingestion or application and document refusals.
• Maintain a clean and organized medication cart/room.
