Job summary

Springbrooke Senior Living is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse and assist residents with daily living activities in Denver, CO.

Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, aiding with meals, coordinating transportation to activities, and ensuring accurate documentation. Requires CNA and RMA certifications, CPR/First Aid/AED, and flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with training to achieve CNA
  • CNA certification in this state
  • Registered Medication Aide certification in this state
  • Current CPR, First Aid and AED certifications

Responsibilities

  • Dispenses medications under the direction of a licensed nurse according to established procedures
  • Helps resident with all personal care functions as needed
  • Assists at mealtimes and monitors eating habits
  • Assists resident to and from daily activities
  • Cleans and organizes the resident’s room and assists with laundry
  • Measures and records vital signs and reports changes in condition
  • Ensures documentation is complete and compliant with regulations
  • Communicates with residents and families regarding care
  • Attends staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job description

The Certified Medication Aide dispenses medications under the direction of a licensed nurse and helps residents with activities of daily living, such as hygiene, toileting, feeding, moving safely to activities or functions, and caring for the resident's environment, including laundry and housekeeping. He or she must be sensitive to the needs and desires of each resident and make an attempt to improve and enrich their lives.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Dispenses medications under the direction of a licensed nurse according to established proceduresHelps resident with all personal care functions as neededHelps resident at mealtimes and monitors resident’s eating habitsHelps resident to and from daily activitiesCleans and organizes the resident’s room and assists with laundryMeasures and records vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, etc., and reports any changes in conditionEnsures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standardsCommunicates with residents and families regarding careAttends all staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes as requiredPerforms other duties as assignedQualifications & Physical Requirements:Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stressAble to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift up to 50lbs as neededAble to work a flexible schedule, which may include working days, evenings, weekends, and holidaysEducation & Experience:High school diploma or GED with further training to achieve certificationCertified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in this stateCertified as Registered Medication Aide in this stateAt least one year of experience in an assisted living community preferredCurrent CPR, First Aid, and AED certificationsThis job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the employee in this position.
