Qualifications

• Must hold a current Texas Medication Aide certification.
• Experience and competence in medication administration procedures.
• Clear communication with a patient and professional demeanor with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications (PO, topical, rectal) per physician orders and policy.
• Monitor and report adverse reactions or changes in resident status.
• Document all medication administration accurately in compliance with policies.
• Maintain secure control of the medication cart and ensure a safe environment.
• Protect resident privacy and confidentiality of information.
• Follow infection control procedures during medication administration.
• Report any medication errors promptly to the Charge Nurse.
