Qualifications

• Holds a current Texas Medication Aide certification.
• Experience and competence in medication administration procedures.
• Communicates clearly and demonstrates patience, discipline, and professionalism.
• Pays close attention to detail and ensures accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications: PO, topical, and rectal as prescribed and per policy.
• Monitor and report adverse reactions or status changes.
• Document all medication administration accurately.
• Maintain safe handling of the medication cart and environment.
• Protect resident privacy and confidentiality of information.
• Follow infection control procedures during medication administration.
• Immediately report medication errors to the Charge Nurse.
