Qualifications

• Holds a current Texas Medication Aide certification
• Experience in medication administration procedures
• Communicates clearly with patience and professionalism
• Pays close attention to detail with accurate documentation

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications (PO, topical, rectal) per orders and policy
• Monitor for adverse reactions and changes in resident status and report
• Document all medication administration accurately per policies
• Maintain safe control of the medication cart and a hazard-free environment
• Protect resident privacy and confidentiality of information
• Follow infection control procedures during medication administration
• Immediately report any medication errors to the Charge Nurse
