The ideal candidate holds a current Texas Medication Aide certification, communicates clearly, and demonstrates teamwork, attention to detail, and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Texas Medication Aide certification.
• Experience with medication administration procedures.
• Demonstrates clear communication, professionalism and patience.
• Pays close attention to detail and maintains accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed PO, topical, and rectal medications per orders and policy.
• Monitor for adverse reactions or changes in resident status and report promptly.
• Document all medication administration accurately and in compliance with policies.
• Maintain a safe medication cart and a hazard-free environment.
• Protect resident privacy and confidentiality of information.
• Follow infection control procedures during medication administration.
• Immediately report any medication errors to the Charge Nurse.
