Job summary

Ashford Gardens in Houston is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to administer oral and topical medications under physician orders and nurse supervision. The position runs Monday–Friday from 2pm to 10pm, supporting residents with health, comfort, and well-being in a skilled care setting.

The ideal candidate holds Nursing Assistant certification and medication administration certification, with strong English communication.

Qualifications

• State certification as a Nursing Assistant mandatory.
• State approved medication administration certification (where required).
• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications as ordered by a physician under supervision.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the "five rights" of medication administration.
• Records administration of medications and/or treatments.
• Monitors for reactions/side effects and reports to a licensed nurse.
• Dispenses PRN medications under facility policy while accounting for narcotics.
