Cantex Continuing Care Network in Houston, TX is hiring a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to work Monday-Friday 2pm-10pm at Ashford Gardens. The CMA administers oral and topical medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse, ensuring patient health and well-being in compliance with regulations.

The role requires state CNA certification and a state-approved medication administration certificate where required, plus the ability to read, write, and speak English.

Qualifications

• State certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) mandatory.
• State approved medication administration certification where required.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications as ordered by a physician under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the five rights of medication administration.
• Records the administration of medications and/or treatments.
• Observes for and reports any reactions or side effects to a licensed nurse.
• May dispense narcotics under supervision of the licensed nurse per facility policy.
• Keeps medication carts/rooms clean and organized per policy.
• Attends facility education in-services.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
