Job summary

Senior Lifestyle is seeking a Certified Medication Aide for an Assisted Living community in Webster, NY. The role involves safe med administration, ADLs, and basic nursing care for residents on an hourly schedule.

Responsibilities include medication counts, MAR verification, inventory management, and daily documentation. The position emphasizes adherence to regulations, teamwork, and compassionate resident service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1+ months of experience; Senior Living preferred.
• Current Medication Technician certification depending on state regulations.
• Acceptable proficiency in English to perform duties and communicate with staff.
• Basic computer proficiency: Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Supervise self-administered medications in compliance with Federal & State regulations and Senior Lifestyle guidelines.
• Count and sign narcotics with approved personnel before accepting medication keys; notify supervisor of discrepancies.
• Order medications and treatments or notify responsible party when supply is <= 7 days.
• Notify supervisor when supply is < 2 days and not yet received.
• Verify all medicines against pharmacy label and MAR; notify pharmacy and DH&W of discrepancies.
• Store medications properly; separate from other items; date vials/bottles per protocol.
• Conduct weekly inspections and remove expired medications.
• Verify MARs at changeover and report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Remove discontinued meds from cart and hand to supervisor.
• Provide personal care (ADLs) and general nursing care as needed (vital signs, etc.).
• Document information in daily log and notify supervisor of concerns.
• Answer calls and assist residents as assigned.
• Daily and weekly cleaning of medicine carts; restocking as needed.
• Attend staff trainings and in-services; maintain medical charts within 48 hours.
