Good Samaritan in Howard, SD is seeking a Part-time Medication Assistant to support resident care under a charge nurse. The MA provides daily living assistance, helps with activities and health needs, and assists with meals and medication administration as delegated.

Qualifications

• Active CNA registration in state of practice or ability to obtain within 120 days.
• CMA certification required and maintained with State Board of Nursing.
• South Dakota CMA course completion where applicable.
• State-required CMA/TMA certification for Good Samaritan facilities.

Responsibilities

• The Medication Assistant provides resident-centered nursing care under supervision of a charge nurse.
• Delivers age-appropriate care and assists with daily living activities.
• Assists with transfers, ROM and range-of-motion exercises.
• Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining; assists meals.
• Administers prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Documents care outcomes and responses to treatment.
• Communicates changes to the charge nurse.
• Provides housekeeping and laundry assistance.
• Supports wellness and recreational programs.
• Participates in departmental/organization committees as needed.
