Job summary

Walnut Grove Care & Rehab Center in McAlester, OK is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to administer medications and support resident care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This full-time role offers competitive pay based on experience, shift differential where applicable, PTO after 30 days, and holidays with premium pay, plus education reimbursement and a 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or general equivalency preferred.
• Required valid certification as a CNA & CMA in Oklahoma.
• Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.
• Must maintain a working email address and phone number for employer communication.
• Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and facility staff.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Additional languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs resident care responsibilities in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, following policies and procedures and regulations.
• Administers medications as ordered by a physician under supervision of a licensed nurse, per state/federal regulations and center policy.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the five rights of medication administration.
• Administers and records all medication given to residents based on their chart.
• Notifies licensed staff when a resident reports pain.
• May take and record vital signs as assigned or required by medications.
• Records administration of medications and treatments in the computer system.
• Answers resident call lights, anticipates needs, and makes rounds under supervision.
• Observes for and reports any reactions or side effects of medications to a licensed nurse.
• Performs all aspects of resident care in a safe environment to reduce errors.
• Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
• Administers PRN medications per regulations and center policy.
• Reports changes observed in resident condition or behavior and any incidents.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
