Job summary

The CMA will monitor residents, document care, respond to calls, and report changes promptly, helping maintain high-quality, compliant care in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• CMA certification required.
• Ability to administer medications under nurse supervision.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the five rights of medication administration.
• Notifies licensed staff when a resident reports pain or adverse symptoms.
• Records medication administration and treatments in the resident's chart and computer system.
• Responds to resident call lights and conducts rounds as assigned.
• Monitors for medication reactions and reports to a licensed nurse.
• Performs care tasks to ensure resident safety and quality of care.
• Supports a culture of safety and quality in daily operations.
• Administers PRN medications per policy and regulations.
• Reports changes in resident condition or behavior to appropriate staff.
