Qualifications

• Holds a current Texas Medication Aide certification.
• Experience and competence in medication administration procedures.
• Clear communication, patience, discipline, and professionalism.
• Pays close attention to detail and ensures accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Administer Medications: Dispense prescribed PO, topical and rectal meds per orders and policy.
• Monitor and report any adverse medication reactions or changes in resident status.
• Document all medication administration in compliance with policies.
• Maintain control of the medication cart and ensure a safe, hazard-free environment.
• Safeguard the confidentiality of resident information.
• Follow infection control procedures during medication administration.
• Immediately report any medication errors to the Charge Nurse.
