Job summary

Ciena Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Medication Aide to provide direct nursing care in Michigan facilities. You will administer medications, assist in unit management, and ensure adherence to state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED required.
Completion of a Michigan Board of Nursing approved Medication Aide training program.
Current Michigan Certified/State Tested Nurse Assistant certification.
Must possess a state-certified medication aide certification in the state of Michigan.
Current CPR certification or CPR certification within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to residents and administer medications as ordered by physician and approved by state board.
Assist supervisors in care and management of the unit to ensure high quality care.
Prepare and administer medications and treatments as delegated by RN and per regulatory requirements.
Verify resident identity before medication administration and maintain accurate documentation.
Monitor residents for side effects or adverse reactions and report concerns promptly to RN Supervisor.
Maintain proper medication storage, handling, and disposal in compliance with regulations.
Record all medication administration in the clinical record and communicate any discrepancies to RN Supervisor.
