Job summary

Pillar of Cedar Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate Certified Medication Aide to provide resident-focused care. You will help assess needs, develop and follow care plans, and ensure quality CMA-driven care in collaboration with the nursing team.

You’ll administer medications, communicate changes, and support smooth shift transitions. This role requires Iowa CMA certification and current CPR; we offer a supportive environment and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Iowa CMA certification required.
• Current CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents’ needs and develop/ follow individual care plans.
• Ensure quality care via CMA processes and guidelines.
• Identify and communicate status changes to physicians, staff and family.
• Administer medications and other direct care as prescribed.
• Communicate information to staff to ensure smooth shift transitions.
• Report suspected abuse to the appropriate authority.
• Document as required in PCC.
• Push/pull up to 30 pounds to move medication carts and transport residents.

Job Description

• Assess the residents’ needs and assist in developing and following individual care plans
• Assure quality care is delivered through the utilization of CMA processes and guidelines
• Identify and communicate changes in residents’ status to physicians, staff, and family members
• Administer medications, and other direct care as prescribed and indicated
• Communicate appropriate information to all staff to provide a smooth shift transition
• Report any suspected abuse to appropriate authority
• Document appropriately as needed or required in PCC
• Push/pull 30 pounds of force required to move medication carts and to transport residents in wheelchair

Qualification

• Current CPR certification
