Job summary

Focused Post Acute Care Partners (FPACP) in Webster, TX is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to join our team. The role requires current TX CMA certification and good standing in Nurse Aide and Misconduct registries.

English communication is essential to document and follow orders accurately. You will accurately prepare and administer medications, document administration, and monitor residents’ vital signs.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Certified Medication Aide Certification in Texas.
• Must be in good standing on the Nurse Aide Registry and Misconduct Registry.
• Ability to understand, remember and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Must hold a current Certified Nurse Aide certification in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare and administer medications as prescribed and document administration.
• Record vitals accurately and promptly.
• Count and sign medication administration records for controlled drugs.
• Safely lift and transfer residents as required, with or without accommodations.
• Report any medication errors immediately to the Charge Nurse or Director of Nursing.
• Utilize the EMR system (PointClickCare) for charting and documentation.
• Follow safety guidelines and universal precautions at all times.

Immediately report any errors to the Charge Nurse or Director of NursingAccurately take and record vital signsAccurately count and sign medication administration record for controlled drugsSafely lift, move and transfer residents as required. This involves the ability to safely transfer residents who cannot bear their own weight. It also involves the ability to safely perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting in excess of 150 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations; manual dexterity required performing tasks in assisting residents with their personal needsObserve all residents and report anything unusual or abnormal to Charge Nurse; ability to safely care for residents in a patient and respectful manner despite some resident's lack of cooperation and/or combativenessFollow safety guidelines; promptly remove and clean up urine or bowel excretions and other spills or safety hazardsSafely utilize the equipment.
